Evacuation orders lifted, forward progress stopped on 8-acre brush fire on Burbank hillside

Evacuation orders in place for 8-acre brush fire burning in Burbank
According to a Burbank emergency alert, evacuation orders are in place North of Walnut to the Bel Aire ball field and East of Bel Aire.

BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters have stopped forward progress on a brush fire that burned near homes on the Burbank hillside on Tuesday, according to the fire department. All evacuation orders have been lifted.

The 8- to 10-acre Bethany Fire was reported near Amherst Drive and Bethany Road.

The evacuation orders and warnings issued for residents near the fire have been lifted.

The Burbank Fire Department said fire hose has been placed around the fire to keep it contained. Officials are continuing to monitor and cleanup will continue through the night.

All hiking trails above Burbank, including the Wildwood Canyon and Stough Nature Center areas, are closed.
